Description:
Limin Wang has reported two vulnerabilities in abc2midi, allowing malicious people to compromise a vulnerable system.

The vulnerabilities are caused due to boundary errors in the "event_text()" and "event_specific()" functions, which are used when converting abc files into midi format. This can be exploited to cause a buffer overflow via a specially crafted abc document.

Successful exploitation allows execution of arbitrary code, but requires that a user is tricked into converting a malicious abc file.

The vulnerability has been reported in abcMIDI-2004-12-04. Other versions may also be vulnerable.
