Description:
Danny Lungstrom has reported a vulnerability in chbg, allowing malicious people to compromise a vulnerable system.

The vulnerability is caused due to a boundary error in the "simplify_path()" function, which is used to handle file names. This can be exploited to cause a buffer overflow via a specially crafted list of file names.

Successful exploitation allows execution of arbitrary code, but requires that a user is tricked into opening a list of files.

The vulnerability has been reported in version 1.5. Prior versions may also be affected.

Solution:
Do not open file lists from untrusted sources.

Use another product.
