Description: A vulnerability has been reported in jcabc2ps, allowing malicious people to compromise a vulnerable system.
The vulnerability is caused due to a boundary error in the "switch_voice()" function, which is used when converting abc files into ps format. This can be exploited to cause a buffer overflow via a specially crafted abc document.
Successful exploitation allows execution of arbitrary code, but requires that a user is tricked into converting a malicious abc document.
The vulnerability has been reported in version 20040902. Prior versions may also be affected.
Solution: Update to jcabc2ps-20060106 or later.
