Description:
Bartlomiej Sieka has reported a vulnerability in NapShare, which can be exploited by malicious people to compromise a user's system.

The vulnerability is caused due to a boundary error in the "auto_filter_extern()" function when processing gnutella responses. This can be exploited to cause a buffer overflow by returning a specially crafted response.

Successful exploitation allows execution of arbitrary code, but requires that an extern filter is used.

The vulnerability has been reported in version 1.2. Other versions may also be affected.

Solution:
Don't use the extern filter.

Use another product.
