Description:
Jonathan Rockway has reported a vulnerability in NASM, which can be exploited by malicious people to compromise a user's system.

The vulnerability is caused due to a boundary error in the "error()" function. This can be exploited to cause a buffer overflow by tricking a user into assembling a specially crafted ASM file.

Successful exploitation allows execution of arbitrary code with the privileges of the user running NASM.

The vulnerability has been reported in version 0.98.38. Other versions may also be affected.
