Description:
Limin Wang has reported a vulnerability in rtf2latex2e, allowing malicious people to compromise a vulnerable system.

The vulnerability is caused due to a boundary error in the "ReadFontTbl()" function, which is used when converting rtf files into latex format. This can be exploited to cause a buffer overflow via a specially crafted rtf document.

Successful exploitation allows execution of arbitrary code, but requires that a user is tricked into converting a malicious rtf document.

The vulnerability has been reported in version 1.0fc2. Prior versions may also be affected.

Solution:
Do not open rtf files from untrusted sources.

Use another product.
