Description:
Ryan McGeehan has discovered some vulnerabilities in Limbo, which can be exploited by malicious people to conduct cross-site scripting and script insertion attacks, and potentially compromise a vulnerable system.

1) Input passed to the "searchword" parameter in "index.php" isn't properly sanitised before being returned to the user. This can be exploited to execute arbitrary HTML and script code in a user's browser session in context of a vulnerable site.

2) Input passed to "gb_name", "gb_email", "gb_url", "gb_country", "gb_title", and "gb_message" is not properly sanitised before being used. This can be exploited to inject arbitrary HTML and script code, which will be executed in a user's browser session in context of an affected site, when the malicious guest book entry is viewed.

Since Limbo File Manager allows an administrative user to view and edit arbitrary files, the vulnerabilities can exploited to view or edit arbitrary files by e.g. tricking an administrative user into viewing a malicious entry in the guest book. This can potentially be exploited further to execute arbitrary code depending on the server configuration.

The vulnerabilities have been confirmed in version 1.0.2. Prior versions may also be affected.
