Beskrivelse:
Peter Kruse har rapporteret en sårbarhed i GFI MailSecurity og GFI MailEssentials, som kan udnyttes af ondsindede personer til at udføre et DoS (Denial of Service).

Sårbarheden skyldes en fejl i et Microsoft HTML-bibliotek, som benyttes af applikationen under håndteringen af HTML-baserede emails. Dette kan udnyttes til at stoppe behandling af emails ved at sende en ondsindet HTML-baseret email indeholdende specielt udformet JavaScript.

For at genoprette funktionaliteten skal den ondsindede email fjernes manuelt fra mail-køen.
