Description: Jeremy Bae has reported a vulnerability in GNUBoard, which potentially can be exploited by malicious people to compromise a vulnerable system.
The vulnerability is caused due to an error in the handling of file uploads in "gbupdate.php", when the filename extension contains capital letters. This can be exploited to upload malicious script files inside the web root.
The vulnerability has been reported in version 3.40 and prior.
Solution: The vendor has released an updated 3.40 version, which fixes the vulnerability.
