Description:
A vulnerability has been reported in Netscape Directory Server, which can be exploited by malicious people to cause a DoS (Denial of Service) or compromise a vulnerable system.

The vulnerability is caused due to a boundary error within the access control code when handling LDAP requests. This can be exploited to cause a stack-based buffer overflow by sending a specially crafted LDAP attribute change request to a vulnerable server.

Successful exploitation crashes the service and may allow execution of arbitrary code.

The vulnerability has been reported in version 6.21 and prior.
