Description: Patrice Fournier has reported a vulnerability in HylaFAX, which potentially can be exploited by malicious people to bypass certain security restrictions.
The vulnerability is caused due to an error in the authentication process for hfaxd using the "hosts.hfaxd" database. This may be exploited to login without authentication via a specially crafted username or hostname matching an entry in the database.
The vulnerability has been reported in versions 4.0pl0 through 4.2.0.
