Description: Erik Sjölund has reported a vulnerability in Playmidi, which potentially can be exploited by malicious, local users to gain escalated privileges.
The vulnerability is caused due to boundary errors in "main()" in "playmidi.c". This can be exploited to cause a buffer overflow by supplying an overly long filename argument.
Successful exploitation may allow execution of arbitrary code with escalated privileges on systems, where the application has been installed setuid.
The vulnerability has been reported in version 2.4. Other versions may also be affected.
