Description: Luigi Auriemma has discovered a vulnerability in DivX Player, which can be exploited by malicious people to compromise a user's system.
The vulnerability is caused due to an input validation error in the unpacking of compressed skin files. This can be exploited to overwrite or create arbitrary files on a user's system via directory traversal attacks by tricking a user into opening a malicious ".dps" skin file.
The vulnerability has been confirmed on version 2.6. Prior versions may also be affected.
