Description: A vulnerability has been reported in Sun Solaris, which can be exploited by malicious, local users to gain escalated privileges.
The vulnerability is caused due to unspecified errors in the DHCP administration utilities (dhcpconfig, pntadm, and dhcpmgr).
Successful exploitation allows execution of arbitrary code with root privileges.
The vulnerability affects the following versions:
* Solaris 8 with patch 109077-02 through 109077-08 and without patch 109077-09 (SPARC platform)
* Solaris 8 with patch 109078-02 through 109078-08 and without patch 109078-09 (x86 platform)
NOTE: Only systems with the DHCP server packages installed are affected.
