Description: 3APA3A has reported a vulnerability in BNC IRC proxy, which can be exploited by malicious people to cause a DoS (Denial of Service).
The vulnerability is caused due to a missing boundary check when doing "FD_SET()" operations. This can be exploited to cause a buffer overflow in certain configurations by establishing multiple concurrent connections.
Successful exploitation prevents new connections from being accepted.
The vulnerability has been reported in versions 2.8.4 and 2.9.2. Other versions may also be affected.
