Description:
FSC Vulnerability Research Team has reported a vulnerability in Squid, which can be exploited by malicious people to cause a DoS (Denial of Service).

The vulnerability is caused due to a boundary error when receiving WCCP (Web Cache Communication Protocol) messages. This can be exploited to cause a buffer overflow via an overly long WCCP message.

According to the vendor, this can be exploited to crash Squid. However, successful exploitation requires that Squid has been configured to send and expect WCCP messages from a router.

The vulnerability affects all versions up to and including 2.5.STABLE7.
