Description: Davide Madrisan has reported a vulnerability in KDE kdelibs, which can be exploited by malicious, local users to perform certain actions with escalated privileges on a vulnerable system.
The vulnerability is caused due to the dcopidlng script creating temporary files insecurely. This can be exploited via symlink attacks to create or overwrite arbitrary files on the system with the privileges of the user invoking the vulnerable script.
The vulnerability affects all versions in the KDE 3.2.x and KDE 3.3.x series.
