A Gentoo specific vulnerability has also been reported, which can be exploited by malicious, local users to gain escalated privileges.

The vulnerability is caused due to a configuration error, where Opera loads libraries from a shared directory writable for users in the "portage" group. This can be exploited to execute arbitrary code via a malicious library with the privileges of the user running opera.
