Description: Daniel A. has reported a vulnerability in Invision Power Board, which potentially can be exploited by malicious users to conduct script insertion attacks.
Input passed in some nested SML codes in a forum post or signature is not properly sanitised before being used. This may be exploited to inject some script code, which will be executed in a user's browser session in context of an affected site when the malicious forum entry or signature is viewed.
Example:
`style=background:url("javascript:
")
The vulnerability has been reported in version 1.3.1 and 2.0.3. Other versions may also be affected.
Solution: A patch has reportedly been posted, which fixes the vulnerability.
