Description

Florian Westphal has reported a vulnerability in cmd5checkpw, which can be exploited by malicious, local users to gain escalated privileges.

cmd5checkpw fails to drop privileges before calling an external program. This can be exploited to gain escalated privileges.


Solution
Remove the setuid bit. This may affect the functionality.
