Description: FraMe has reported a vulnerability in CuteNews, which can be exploited by malicious people to conduct script insertion attacks.
The "HTTP_X_FORWARDED_FOR" environment variable is used without sanitation when posting comments. This can be exploited to inject arbitrary HTML and script code, which will get executed in an administrator's browser session in context of an affected site, when the administrator views the comments.
It is also possible to injection arbitrary PHP code into a certain file. However, access to this file is by default restricted to localhost using ".htaccess".
The vulnerability has been reported in version 1.3.6. Other versions may also be vulnerable.
