Description:
Joseph VanAndel has reported a vulnerability in grip, which potentially can be exploited by malicious people to compromise a user's system.

The vulnerability is caused due to a boundary error in the handling of the CDDB protocol. This can be exploited by a malicious CDDB server to cause a buffer overflow by returning more than 16 matches.

Successful exploitation may allow execution of arbitrary code.

The vulnerability has been reported in version 3.1.2 and 3.2.0. Other versions may also be affected.
