Description: Dennis Rand has reported a vulnerability in Sentinel License Manager, which can be exploited by malicious people to compromise a vulnerable system.
The vulnerability is caused due to a boundary error in the Lservnt service (port 5093/udp) when processing received data. This can be exploited to cause a buffer overflow by sending an overly large amount of data (more than 3000 bytes) to the service.
Successful exploitation allows execution of arbitrary code with SYSTEM privileges.
The vulnerability has been reported in version 7.2.0.2 for Windows. Other versions may also be affected.
Solution: Upgrade to version 8.0.
