Description

Jari Kirma has reported a security issue in FreeBSD, which can be exploited by malicious, local users to bypass certain security restrictions.

The problem is caused due to incorrect initialization of the bitmap used for determining, which hardware can be accessed by unprivileged
processes.

Successful exploitation allows direct access to some hardware on amd64 systems and can potentially be exploited to cause a DoS (Denial of Service), disclose sensitive information, or gain escalated privileges.
