CVE-2005-1049
CVE-2005-1050

Description:
Diabolic Crab has reported some vulnerabilities in PostNuke, which can be exploited by malicious people to conduct SQL injection and cross-site scripting attacks.

1) Input passed to the "module" parameter in "admin.php" and the "op" parameter in "user.php" is not properly sanitised before being returned to the user. This can be exploited to execute arbitrary HTML and script code in a user's browser session in context of a vulnerable site.

These vulnerabilities have been reported in version 0.760-rc3. According to the vendor, the "user.php" vulnerability has been confirmed when the default pnAntiCracker has been disabled.

2) Input passed to the "sid" parameter isn't properly sanitised before being used in a SQL query. This can be exploited to manipulate SQL queries by injecting arbitrary SQL code.

Example:
http://[victim]/modules.php?op=modload&name=News&file=article&sid=[code]&POSTNUKESID=[id]

This issue has been reported in version 0.760-rc3. However, according to the vendor, it has not been possible to reproduce it.

Solution:
Update to version 0.750b.
