Description: SUSE has issued updates for multiple packages. These fix various vulnerabilities, which can be exploited by malicious, local users to escalate their privileges and by malicious people to compromise a vulnerable system.
1) Certain input passed to network scripts from netapplet isn't properly sanitised. This can be exploited to execute commands with root privileges.
This only affects Novell Linux Desktop 9.
2) A security issue in tetex can be used enumerate the presence of arbitrary files by placing symlinks in "/var/cache/fonts".
