Description: Tavis Ormandy has reported some vulnerabilities in xv, which potentially can be exploited by malicious people to compromise a user's system.
1) Some boundary errors when processing comments in the PDS image decoder may be exploited cause buffer overflows and execute arbitrary code by tricking a user into viewing a specially crafted image.
2) Some format string errors in the TIFF and PDS image decoders may be exploited to execute arbitrary code by tricking a user into viewing a specially crafted image.
3) An input validation error in the handling of filenames may in certain situations be exploited to inject arbitrary shell commands via a specially crafted filename containing shell meta characters.
