CVE-2005-1716

Description:
Lostmon has reported some vulnerabilities in TOPo, which can be exploited by malicious people to conduct cross-site scripting and script insertion attacks and disclose system and sensitive information.

1) Input passed to the "m", "s" and "t" parameters in "index.php" isn't properly verified, before it is used to include files. This can exploited to include arbitrary files from local resources.

2) Input passed to the "ID" parameter in "index.php" isn't properly sanitised before being returned to the user. This can be exploited to execute arbitrary HTML and script code in a user's browser session in context of an affected site.

3) Input passed to the web and e-mail fields when adding a comment isn't properly sanitised before being used. This can be exploited to inject arbitrary HTML and script code, which will get executed in a user's browser session in context of an affected site when the malicious comment is viewed.

An issue has also been reported where data files are stored improperly in the "data/" directory inside the web root. This can e.g. be exploited to disclose the IP addresses of clients who have voted.

The vulnerabilities have been reported in version 2.2.178. Other versions may also be affected.

Solution:
Edit the source code to ensure that input is properly sanitised.
