Description: Multiple vulnerabilities have been reported in WebLogic, where the most critical can be exploited by malicious people to disclose sensitive information and cause a DoS (Denial of Service).
1) An error can be exploited by users granted the Monitor security role to shrink or reset JDBC connection pools.
The vulnerability affects the following versions:
* WebLogic Server / Express 8.1 Service Pack 2 (all platforms)
* WebLogic Server / Express 8.1 Service Pack 3 (all platforms)
2) An error in the handling of security provider exceptions may be exploited to manipulate the identity of threads and cause failure in the auditing of security exceptions.
The vulnerability affects the following versions:
* WebLogic Server / Express 8.1 through Service Pack 3 (all platforms)
* WebLogic Server / Express 7.0 through Service Pack 5 (all platforms)
3) Users do not need to re-authenticate after new security constraints have been deployed in web applications.
The security issue affects the following versions:
* WebLogic Server / Express 7.0 through Service Pack 5 (all platforms)
4) Passwords are echoed back to standard output after a failed login in the "UserLogin" control, which may disclose the password.
The security issue affects the following versions:
* WebLogic Portal 8.1 through Service Pack 3 (all platforms)
5) An error in the cookie parsing for sites running in clusters can be exploited to cause a slowdown in the cluster via a specially crafted cookie containing an invalid host and port.
The vulnerability affects the following versions:
* WebLogic Server / Express 7.0 through Service Pack 5 (all platforms)
6) Certain input is not properly sanitised before being used. This can e.g. be exploited to inject arbitrary HTML and script code, which will be executed in an administrator's browser session in context of an affected site when the malicious user data is viewed via the login page.
The vulnerability affects the following versions:
* WebLogic Server / Express 8.1 through Service Pack 4 (all platforms)
* WebLogic Server / Express 7.0 through Service Pack 6 (all platforms)
* WebLogic Server / Express 6.1 through Service Pack 7 (all platforms)
7) It is possible to make anonymous binds to the embedded LDAP server. This can be exploited to view user entries and cause a DoS on a vulnerable server by making a large amount of connections.
The vulnerability affects the following versions:
* WebLogic Server 9.0 initial release (all platforms)
* WebLogic Server 8.1 through Service Pack 5 (all platforms)
* WebLogic Server 7.0 through Service Pack 6 (all platforms)
8) An unspecified boundary error can be exploited to cause a buffer overflow.
Successful exploitation causes the vulnerable WebLogic Server / Express instance to become unusable.
The vulnerability affects the following versions:
* WebLogic Server / Express 6.1 Service Pack 4 (all platforms)
Solution: Patches are available (see the original vendor advisories).
Provided and/or discovered by: 1-5, 7-8) Reported by vendor.
