Beskrivelse:
Gaël Delalleau har rapporteret en svaghed i Kerberos V5, som kan udnyttes af ondsindede personer til at få kendskab til diverse informationer.

Problemet skyldes en designfejl i telnet-klienten under håndteringen af kommandoen "NEW-ENVIRON". Dette kan udnyttes til at få kendskab til sessions-variablerne for en bruger, som har etableret en forbindelse til en ondsindet telnet-server.

Svagheden er rapporteret i telnet-klienten inkluderet i Kerberos V5 Release 1.3.6 pakken. Andre versioner kan også være berørte.

Løsning:
Det rapporteres, at producenten overvejer at udgive patches, som implementerer en indstilling til at begrænse eller deaktivere transmission af miljøvariabler.
