Description: A vulnerability has been reported in XAMPP, which can be exploited by malicious people to disclose potentially sensitive information and conduct script insertion attacks.
Input passed to the query string in "lang.php" isn't properly sanitised before being stored in the "lang.tmp" file. This can be exploited to inject arbitrary HTML and script code, which will be executed in a user's browser session in context of an affected site when the malicious user data is viewed.
This can further be exploited to disclose the contents of arbitrary local PHP scripts via directory traversal attacks in an "include()" statement.
The vulnerability has been reported in version 1.4.13. Prior versions may also be affected.
