Description

A vulnerability has been reported in sudo, which can be exploited by malicious, local users to execute arbitrary commands.

The vulnerability is caused due to a race condition in the pathname validation that can occur if a "sudoers" entry containing the "ALL" pseudo-command follows a user's "sudoers" entry.

Successful exploitation allows the user to execute arbitrary commands, but requires that the user is allowed to run commands via Sudo and is able to create symbolic links in the filesystem.

The vulnerability has been reported in versions 1.3.1 through 1.6.8p8.

Solution
Update to version 1.6.8.p9.
