Description


A vulnerability has been discovered in cPanel, which can be exploited by malicious people to conduct cross-site scripting attacks.

Invalid input passed to the "user" parameter in cpsrvd.pl is not properly sanitised before being returned to users in an error message. This can be exploited to execute arbitrary HTML and script code in a user's browser session in context of an affected site.

Example:
http://[host]:2082/login?user=**[code]

The vulnerability has been confirmed in version 10.2.0-R82. Other versions may also be affected.


Solution:
Update to version 10.2.0 (build 210).
