Description:
A security issue has been reported in Shorewall, which can be exploited by malicious people to bypass certain security restrictions.

The security issue is caused due to an error that allows a client that has already been authenticated based on its MAC address to bypass all other configured rules and policies.

Successful exploitation requires MACLIST_TTL to be configured to a value greater than 0 or MACLIST_DISPOSITION to be configured as "ACCEPT" .

The security issue has been reported in versions 2.0.x, 2.2.x and 2.4.x.

Solution:
Update to the fixed version of firewall script.
