Beskrivelse:
Francisco Amato har rapporteret en sårbarhed i GroupWise Client, som kan udnyttes af ondsindede, lokale brugere til at udføre et DoS (Denial of Service) eller potentielt opnå eskalerede rettigheder.

Sårbarheden skyldes en ikke-kontrolleret buffer i klienten under fortolkning af filerne indeholdende labels for de forskellige views (dvs. "GWVW02??.INI"). Dette kan udnyttes til at forårsage et buffer overflow, når klienten logger ind i post office.

Succesfuld udnyttelse forudsætter rettigheder til at manipulere "GWVW02??.INI" filerne, hvilket normalt kun er muligt for administrative brugere på systemet.

Sårbarheden er rapporteret i version 6.5.
