Secunia Research has discovered a vulnerability in ALZip, which can be exploited by malicious people to compromise a vulnerable system.
The vulnerability is caused due to a boundary error in UNACEV2.DLL when extracting an ACE archive containing a file with an overly long filename. This can be exploited to cause a stack-based buffer overflow when a user extracts a specially crafted ACE archive.
Successful exploitation allows execution of arbitrary code.
The vulnerability affects the following versions:
* ALZip v6.11 and prior (Korean)
* ALZip v5.52 (All language versions)
* ALZip v5.51 (All language versions)
* ALZip v6.03 (English)
* ALZip v6.1 beta
