Beskrivelse:
Secunia Research har identificeret en sårbarhed i 7-Zip, som kan udnyttes af ondsindede personer til at kompromittere en brugers system.
Sårbarheden skyldes en ikke-kontrolleret buffer i håndteringen af en ARJ blok der er større end 2600 bytes. Dette kan udnyttes til at forårsage et stack-baseret buffer overflow når en specielt udformet ARJ fil åbnes.
Succesfuld udnyttelse gør det muligt at eksekvere vilkårlig kode.
Sårbarheden er bekræftet i version 3.13, 4.23 og 4.26 BETA. Andre versioner er muligvis også berørte.
