Description: basher13 has discovered a vulnerability in Free SMTP Server, which can be exploited by malicious people to use it as an open mail relay.
The vulnerability is caused due to the server accepting unauthenticated connections on any network interfaces, instead of restricting connections to localhost only according to the product description.
The vulnerability has been confirmed in version 2.2. Other versions may also be affected.
Solution: Filtering incoming traffic to the SMTP service.
