|
|
Description: Some vulnerabilities have been reported in GuppY, which can be exploited by malicious people to conduct script insertion attacks, disclose sensitive information, and compromise a vulnerable system.
1) Input passed to the "pg" parameter in "printfaq.php" isn't properly verified, before it is used to include files. This can be exploited to include arbitrary files from local resources.
Successful exploitation requires that "register_globals" is enabled and that "magic_quotes_gpc" is disabled.
The vulnerability has been reported in versions 4.5.4 and 4.5.5 for Windows. Other versions may also be affected.
2) Input passed to the " Referer" and "User-Agent" HTTP headers isn't properly sanitised before being used. This can be exploited to inject arbitrary HTML and script code, which will be executed in a user's browser session in context of an affected site when the malicious user data is viewed via "error.php".
This can also be exploited to inject and execute arbitrary PHP code, but requires that "magic_quotes_gpc" has been disabled.
The vulnerability has been reported in version 4.5.3a. Prior versions may also be affected.
Solution: Update to version 4.5.6a.
