Description: Qnix has reported a vulnerability in Blender, which potentially can be exploited by malicious people to compromise a user's system.
The vulnerability is caused due to a boundary error in "blender" and "blenderplayer" when handling command line inputs. This can be exploited to cause a stack-based buffer overflow and may allow arbitrary code execution via an overly long command line argument. On the Windows platform, the vulnerability can potentially be exploited when the user follows a link to a ".blend" file with a long filename in the Internet Explorer browser and opens it.
The vulnerability has been confirmed in version 2.37a. Other versions may also be affected.
