Description: A vulnerability and a security issue have been reported in storeBackup, which potentially can be exploited by malicious, local users to gain access to sensitive information or perform certain actions on a vulnerable system with escalated privileges.
1) Temporary files are being created insecurely by "storeBackup.pl" in "/tmp" and may be exploited via symlink attacks to create or overwrite arbitrary files on the system.
2) An error in setting file permissions for the backup root directory may allow malicious users to gain access to certain sensitive information.
An error in setting the uid and gid of symbolic links when backing up or when restoring files has also been reported.
