|
|
Description: rgod has discovered some vulnerabilities and a security issue in versatileBulletinBoard, which can be exploited by malicious people to disclose system information, and conduct cross-site scripting and SQL injection attacks.
1) Some input isn't properly sanitised before being used in a SQL query. This can be exploited to manipulate SQL queries by injecting arbitrary SQL code.
Successful exploitation requires that "magic_quotes_gpc" is disabled.
2) Input passed to the "file" parameter in "imagewin.php" and the "url" parameter in "dereferrer.php" isn't properly sanitised before being returned to the user. This can be exploited to execute arbitrary HTML and script code in a user's browser session in context of an affected site.
3) The problem is that it is possible to list versions of installed scripts by accessing the "getversions.php" script directly.
The vulnerabilities and the security issue have been confirmed in version 1.0.0RC2. Other versions may also be affected.
Solution: Edit the source code to ensure that input is properly verified and sanitised.

Changelog: 2006-01-19: Added CVE references.
