Description: rgod has discovered a vulnerability in e107, which can be exploited by malicious people to conduct SQL injection attacks and compromise a vulnerable system.
Input passed to the "a_name" parameter in "resetcore.php" isn't properly sanitised before being used in a SQL query. This can be exploited to manipulate SQL queries by injecting arbitrary SQL code.
This can further be exploited to bypass the authentication process and modify sensitive core settings (e.g. to allow upload and execution of arbitrary PHP scripts).
Successful exploitation requires that "magic_quotes_gpc" is disabled.
The vulnerability has been confirmed in versions 0.6172 and 0.6173, and has also been reported in versions 0.617 and 0.6171. Other versions may also be affected.
Solution: Update to version 0.6174.

NOTE: The fix provided in version 0.6173 is inadequate. It is possible to bypass the security check by defining the "a_password" parameter.
