Description:
Abducter has discovered some vulnerabilities in FlatNuke, which can be exploited by malicious people to conduct cross-site scripting attacks and disclose sensitive information.

1) Input passed to the "user" and "quale" parameters in "index.php" isn't properly verified, before it is used to show file content. This can be exploited to disclose the content of arbitrary files via directory traversal attacks.

Examples:
http://[host]/forum/index.php?op=profile&user=[file]
http://[host]/forum/index.php?op=newtopic&mode=ris&quale=[file]&page=1

2) Input passed to the "user" parameter in "index.php" isn't properly sanitised before being returned to the user. This can be exploited to execute arbitrary HTML and script code in a user's browser session in context of an affected site.

Example:
http://[host]/forum/index.php?op=profile&user=[code]

The vulnerabilities have been confirmed in version 2.5.6. Other versions may also be affected.

Solution:
The vulnerabilities have been fixed in the CVS repository.

Provided and/or discovered by:
Abducter

Changelog:
