Description:
A weakness and a vulnerability has been reported in Ringtail CaseBook, which can be exploited by malicious people to gain knowledge of certain information and conduct cross-site scripting attacks.

1) An error caused due to the application returning different error responses depending on whether or not a valid username is supplied, can can be exploited to enumerate valid usernames.

2) Input passed to the "user" parameter in "login.asp" isn't properly sanitised before being returned to the user. This can be exploited to execute arbitrary HTML and script code in a user's browser session in context of an affected site.

The weakness and the vulnerability have been reported in version 6.1.0. Other versions may also be affected.

Solution:
The weakness and the vulnerability has reportedly been fixed in version 2005.
