Solution Status:
Unpatched
CVE Reference(s):
r0t has discovered some vulnerabilities in DMANews, which can be exploited by malicious people to conduct SQL injection attacks.
Input passed to the "id", "sortorder", and "display_num" parameters in "index.php" isn't properly sanitised before being used in a SQL query. This can be exploited to manipulate SQL queries by injecting arbitrary SQL code.
Example:
http://[host]/index.php?action=comments&id=[sq]
http://[host]/index.php?action=news_list&display_num=[sql]
http://[host]/index.php?action=news_list&sortorder=[sql]
Successful exploitation of the vulnerability in the "id" parameter requires that "magic_quotes_gpc" is disabled.
The vulnerabilities have been confirmed in version 0.904 and also reported in version 0.910. Other versions may also be affected.
Solution:
Edit the source code to ensure that input is properly sanitised.
