Description: Ulf Harnhammar has reported a vulnerability in unalz, which potentially can be exploited by malicious people to compromise a user's system.
The vulnerability is caused due to a boundary error when handling an ".alz" archive that contains a file with an overly long filename. This can be exploited to cause a buffer overflow when a specially crafted ".alz" archive is extracted.
The vulnerability has been reported in version 0.52. Prior versions may also be affected.
Solution: Update to version 0.53.
