Description:
iDEFENSE has reported a vulnerability in UnixWare, which can be exploited by malicious, local users to gain escalated privileges.

The vulnerability is caused due to a boundary error in the setuid root "uidadmin" binary. This can be exploited to cause a stack-based buffer overflow via a specially crafted file (larger than 1600 bytes) that is supplied to the binary via the "-S" commandline option.

Successful exploitation allows arbitrary code execution with root privileges.

The vulnerability has been reported in version 7.1.3 and 7.1.4.
