Description:
r0t has reported a vulnerability in Amaxus CMS, which can be exploited by malicious people to conduct cross-site scripting attacks.

Input passed to the "change" parameter when performing a search isn't properly sanitised before being returned to the user. This can be exploited to execute arbitrary HTML and script code in a user's browser session in context of an affected site.

The vulnerability has been reported in version 3. Other versions may also be affected.

Solution:
Update to version 3.1.4.

A patch was also created and applied to all existing Amaxus customers during January 2006.
