| CVE reference: | CVE-2005-4218
|
|
Description: Yichen Xie and Alex Aiken have discovered some vulnerabilities in phpWebThings, which can be exploited by malicious people to conduct SQL injection attacks.
Some input isn't properly sanitised before being used in a SQL query. This can be exploited to manipulate SQL queries by injecting arbitrary SQL code.
Example:
The "ref" parameter in "download.php" (requires that the "downloads" module has been enabled)
The vulnerabilities have been confirmed in version 1.4 Patched. Other versions may also be affected.
Solution: Edit the source code to ensure that input is properly sanitised.
Provided and/or discovered by: Yichen Xie and Alex Aiken, Stanford University
Changelog: 2006-01-13: Added CVE reference.
